WELCOME TO RECEPTION!

Hello!
We have been having a great time in Reception class.
It has been lovely getting to know all of your children.
Thank you to those of you who brought in waterproof clothes for outside, it makes a big difference to the children if they can explore freely without worrying about getting wet or muddy!

At the moment we are practising reading and writing our own names and those of our friends.
As well as counting how many children are at school and how many are missing each day.

Songs we have learned include:

Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes

5 Little Monkeys

Monster mood song

Zoom, Zoom, Zoom

One finger, one thumb

Nursery Rhymes include:
round and round the garden

Roly Poly

In the 'Miss Lucie Reads' section of the blog you will find 'Let's take over the Nursery' which was one of our favourite stories from our first week and which we shared with the rest of the school in Assembly.

Below are some photos which show just how busy we've been!!

Ships and Sharks roleplay outside

Busy cooking in the Natural kitchen.

We have also been learning words and signs to name our feelings with the help of Mood Monsters.
Have a look at some of our paintings!
